Check out some great tips on Engagement Pictures

The Bride and Groom.com contacted us to help with an article about engagement pictures. We were excited to be able to help. Check out the article on their blog at www.http://blog.thebrideandgroom.com.

Here are a few tips we want to share with you:

When choosing your outfits avoid patterns! You do not want your clothing to take any attention away from you. Try and avoid identical attire(i.e. matching jeans and white shirts). You want your engagements to appear somewhat natural. Would you really go out every day wearing identical outfits? You want to wear clothes that fit your body type and go well with your soon to be significant others clothes.

Try and relax! Engagements need to be fun. As your photographer we will pay attention to every little detail so that you don't have to worry about it.

Engagements are such a fun part of wedding photography. We are able to get a great feel of who the couple is and how they interact with each other so we can take the best possible images. There are so many possibilities for incredible images for your engagements. Contact us today to schedule an appointment 801-253-4111. We look forward to making your engagement images incredible.

Amber & Chad's wedding at the Atrium at Western Gardens

You may recall seeing the incredible images of Amber at the Capitol that Justin captured. We couldn't let you miss out on their fantastic wedding images too. We wanted to give a special thanks to Chad & Amber for letting us be part of their incredible day. What an incredible couple they are!!

Here is a little bit about Amber & Chad. Amber and Chad are a really fun couple. They enjoy spending time talking, camping, fishing and being themselves. They are excited to get into biking so they can go mountain biking together. They love the outdoors and love being with each other. They also love going to movies, eating popcorn & of course coke zero. Chad and Amber met at Amber's work. Because Amber works at a financial institution he was able to go in often. We think he went in just to see Amber, but that is just our opinion. :) It took Chad three months to ask out Amber but once they went out they really hit it off.

Chad's proposal was so sweet. He got a bunch of flowers and decorated Amber's room. He placed flowers in vases all around the room and rose petals on the floor and he placed twelve long stem roses surrounding a wedding ring in the middle of the bed. Chad was standing in the corner and popped the big question when Amber came in. Great work Chad, we know Amber loved it.

Amber chose black and ivory accented with crystals for her wedding colors. And everything looked incredible.

Chad treats Amber like an angel and he is very committed to their relationship. Amber says he is really perfect to her even with all his flaws. She loves that she can be herself around Chad.

Amber is very committed to things & she doesn't stop til she achieves her goal. Chad loves her laugh and he loves her for all the fun, quirky things she does.

Amber was most excited to get all dressed up and to see Chad's face when she walked down the aisle. What a beautiful bride she was.

Chad & Amber were married on 2/20/2010 at the Atrium at Western Gardens.

Some vendors that they used are:

Hair: Amber Bills with Taylor D'Shaw Salon

Dress: Fantasy Bridal

Catering: Utah Food Services

We want to wish Chad & Amber all the happiness in their marriage. We are so thrilled for you guys!!

Jon & Chelsie Drake, a match made in Heaven

Here is an amazing couple Jon & Chelsie. They were so fun that we couldn't miss out on blogging about them. We wanted to share their story with you. Jon and Chelsie were set up by Chelsie's Dad. Yes, you heard me right, Chelsie's Dad picked his own son in-law. How lucky is he? Chelsie's Dad was in the Bishopric (leadership in the LDS church) at a singles ward where Jon attended. Chelsie was living in Los Angeles at the time and her Dad really wanted them to meet so he flew Chelsie home to go on a date with Jon. Jon must have been excited to go with Chelsie because he was still recuperating from a sports injury and showed up with a cane and wheelchair to pick her up. Jon insisted they still go to dinner in spite of his injuries. They obviously hit it off.

Jon proposed to Chelsie on her birthday. They went to dinner with Chelsie's entire family at Teppanyaki. Jon had bought a Nothing Bundt Cake with a huge pink flower in the middle and then he placed the cake in front of Chelsie while everyone was singing happy birthday. There was a a beautiful ring sitting inside the flower on top of the cake and Chelsie turned around to see Jon on his knee. With tears streaming down her face, she said "Yes!".

Jon and Chelsie are such a fun couple they enjoy each others company and love to do everything together. They do have to admit that their favorite past time is golf. They love the peacefulness and beauty of it being just them and the golf course.

Jon & Chelsie's song is "You And Me" by Lifehouse.

They honeymooned in the beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They loved every minute of it and look forward to their exciting future together.

My favorite part about Jon & Chelsie is what they said about each other.

Jon said that what he likes the most about Chelsie is "She always knows how to brighten the situation. Apart from the fact that she is the most beautiful girl, she never ceases to surprise me. I love the way she loves me."

Chelsie said that what she likes the most about Jon is "Other than his incredibly handsome dimples is his love for me and his patience. Jon knows me better than I know myself, which makes him such a wonderful husband."

We are so glad they found each other. Congratulations to an incredible couple. We wish you always to have lots of love and happiness in your lives together.
Thanks for letting Swensen Photography share your love story.

Trinh Ong & Kevin Munns Love Story (Engagements at La Caille)

This cute couple Kevin and Trinh are high school sweethearts and have been together for 9 years now. I love how the camera picked up on their chemistry. You can see that they are truly in love.

Trinh shared with us how they got engaged and we wanted to share that with you. "We drove home to California during Thanksgiving break and Kev wanted to stop by The Eiffel Tower Restaurant in Paris Hotel to have lunch. To my surprise he had everything planned out! He reserved the most scenic table in the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. The view was gorgeous and we had such an amazing French food. After lunch, he turned to me and told me how much he loved me and how he wanted to grow old with me. As he got on his knee, I literally was in tears. After he put the ring on me the water show across the street from the Bellagio hotel went on. It was one of the most magical moments I have ever experienced."
Way to go Kevin!! I love romantic engagements.

Kevin & Trinh's song is "With or Without You" by U2. They love to cook together and they go on "date nights" once a week, but they enjoy talking to each other the very most.

They are excited to honeymoon in Vietnam, which is where Trinh was born, and they are excited to have Kevin test out his Vietnamese that he has been learning for over a year now.

We asked Trinh what she liked most about Kevin and she said "I like how he can always cheer me up."

Kevin said "I like her smile."

What an incredible couple they are. We are so excited for Kevin & Trinh and wish them all the happiness in their future together. Thanks for letting us share your Love story and be part of your special day.
